CEO of Mid-East Antrim Council “nominated DUP MLA in honor of the Queen”

Date:

Middle East Council Antrim President Ann Donahue and Jonathan Buckley, MLA of DUP

The Chief Executive of Central and Eastern Antrim District Council has appointed the US Department of Defense (MLA) for other local authorities in honor of the Queen.

Ann Donahoe Office Show MLA Jonathan Buckley earned an MBE for “political and public service,” as Belfast Live understands.

He does not currently know what he will do after leaving the position.

Mr. Buckley, from Port Down, has been in the MLA for five years and is seeking re-election in May.

It is known that she was nominated for the title of Queen early last year, since the appointment of the Executive Council of the Council.

Ms Donahoe’s lawyer, who was fired over other matters in December last year, said the nomination process was confidential and she was shot during a “leak” from the media.

The Middle East and East Counter-Terrorism Council has been embroiled in months of controversy, including allegations of bullying and the absence of senior staff.

Last week, the police conducted a second search of the council headquarters on charges of misconduct by government officials.

Felicity Houston, a former public affairs commissioner, said the legal aid act being introduced from outside the district “sounds very strange”.

He said, “I think taxpayers at Middle East and East Antrim Council would be surprised and disappointed that the CEO has gone so far out of the area to identify worthy people.

“It seems very strange. Surely the council has a clear policy for locating such appointments only?”

Of course, if that were the case, coalition counselor Danny Donnelly said, it would be very unusual and we would be asking questions about the reasons for the appointment.

If that was the case, it would have been very strange and we were wondering why anyone outside the area was named that way.

Local officials said in February, in response to a question from TUV Chancellor Timothy Gaston, that seven honorary appointments have been made by council officials since 2015.

Three of the titles given by the Executive are spelled out. One of them is Mr. Buckley.

In its response, the board argued that the names were not protected under its data protection obligations because the applications were unsuccessful or were still under consideration.

He added, “It is clear that nominations are submitted regularly by elected members and are submitted through the Executive Office after consulting the mayor at the time.”

I contacted DUP for comment.

Ms. Donaghy was released in December during a separate investigation into allegations of bullying and harassment. He categorically denied any wrongdoing and took legal action against the board of directors, alleging discrimination.

In a statement, her lawyer said: “We have been told that in accordance with the Queen’s Honorary Nomination Process and Guidelines, any name is protected under the GDPR.

Second, this is part of the latest board leak of the latest long-running series and will also be part of the same upcoming investigation.

In response to questions about Buckley’s appointment, a board spokesperson said, “The board cannot confirm any details about the appointments, as there are strict confidentiality rules around the process.”
