EH Bildu’s parliamentary spokesman, Maddalena Iriarteannounced on Tuesday that his group table an amendment to the whole to the 2023 budgets of the Basque government, after seeing no “real negotiating call” for the accounts in the Basque executive. “We’re not going to do a staging exercise that doesn’t match reality,” he stressed.

After a third meeting with Finance Minister Pedro Azpiazu, Iriarte has appeared before the media to explain his decision, after emphasizing that in the proposal made to him by the government last week, EH Bildu “neither of the proposals” has not reflected. that the coalition believes it is “providing answers to problems which it currently believes cannot be postponed and cannot be appealed”.

Likewise, he explained that “out of rigor and because of the loyalty it owes to the citizenry” he believes that “it is more rigor to say that the government has not responded to any of EH Bildu’s proposals this year and that they are common sense”.

For his part, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Azpiazureiterated that the Basque Government’s offer has had as much influence as possible, economically and competently, in core areas of interest to EH Bildu.

The counselor has found that in budget negotiations sometimes the conditions are met and sometimes not, and on this occasion there was no margin for the executive to continue to approach a budget agreement.

The economy minister is today addressing the third round of meetings with the opposition – Vox is excluded – to further negotiate the 2023 budgets.

Specifically, after the meeting with EH Bildu, there is a meeting with Elkarrekin Podemos-IU at 4 PM and at 5 PM with PP+Cs.
