Unexpected rise: – Asylum seekers will have to work in the future

Date:

The advance in Upper Austria comes from an unexpected source. The new Red State party leader, Michael Lindner, wants to set up an integration service that gives migrants concrete perspectives. But this should not be done on a voluntary basis. The structure could be based on the voluntary social year, in which your pocket money serves the public good, says Lindner.

“Compulsory integration service” – that’s what the new party leader of the Upper Austrian SPÖ calls his idea. Behind that is content that could very well have come from the governing parties ÖVP and FPÖ in Upper Austria, albeit in a nicer way. In summary, all asylum seekers who have a chance of a positive decision and are therefore allowed to stay should be obliged to prepare themselves for the labor market and to cooperate with municipalities and companies.

“Those who pursue a regular and paid job, who can contribute and thus see opportunities for the future, are less likely to take the wrong path. The public sector must avoid bored young people at all costs!” says Lindner, who knows that SPÖ mayor Klaus Luger is on his side: “The Halloween riots have shown that some of the young refugees are causing problems. A clear daily structure through compulsory employment helps to integrate this group into our society. Everyone who uses our support should give something back by working.”

The integration service must be financed by higher income from inflation. According to the SPOÖ, there should be no place in Austria for migrants who become criminals or receive a negative decision.

“We have to get the young people off the streets,” say the two SPÖ politicians, and: “It is a regular daily routine, meaningful work and successful (work and education) relationships that enable young people to become responsible adults. already available, such as compulsory education and schooling, would usually suffice if used alone.

The Reds also go one step further and openly say: “But it is also our duty to protect the Austrian people from uncontrolled immigration and criminals. Our goal is that all people who have the right to live here can develop successfully in Austria and work together towards a good and safe future.” New laws, as demanded by the ÖVP or FPÖ, and also the discussion about the human rights treaty have been regarded as pointless and superfluous.
