This confirms the decision of the party board of this Monday.
Euskaraz irakurri: UPNren Kontseilu Politikoak hauteskundeetara bakarrik aurkezteko erabakia babestu du
The Political Council of the UPN on Saturday ratified the decision adopted on Monday by the executive board of the party standing alone in the regional and municipal elections next May.
The deal, which ends the Navarra Suma coalition formed by UPN, PP and Ciudadanos for the 2019 elections, has received less support in this Political Council than in the regionalist leadership, where the proposed proposal was unanimously supported by President Javier Esparza.
The reason Esparza gives for this change in political strategy is that solo UPN gets more votesbecause it hopes to attract socialists who disagree with the policy of dialogue and agreement with EH Bildu maintained by the President of Navarra and general secretary of the PSN, María Chivite.
