The President of the Government of Navarre, Mary Chivitehas assured in his end-of-year message that his government will continue “to work for the citizens and so that Navarra remains the community with the highest quality of life in Spain. And in these times of difficulties, of some uncertainties, of transformations, we must approach the future as an opportunity to keep improving”.

This year, the 40th anniversary of the Improvement Act, was “a moment to remember who we are, our essence, which is contained in the Constitution. This government respects plurality, is committed to coexistence, but also defends our self-government and progress therein”.

In addition, the president has estimated the most important milestones for 2022, highlighting the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the first place. From a human point of view, he emphasized the solidarity of Navarre, which has taken in more than 2,000 people who have fled the war, for whom it has special memories because these days are particularly familiar.

On the other hand, from an economic point of view, energy, the lack of raw materials and the rise in prices caused by the war “are a challenge for families, but also for companies and the self-employed,” he said.

In this sense, Chivite has emphasized that the Navarre government, as it already did during the pandemic, has “activated aid of a different nature, direct and fiscal, to address this rise in prices, especially energy, so that families and businesses can support to help them get through these most difficult months”.

On the other hand, he has acknowledged that his Executive has difficulty improving in health, waiting lists or primary care, despite the fact that “our standards, both in terms of length of care per patient and accessibility, are above the national average”.

In this sense, he has indicated that “we will improve in terms of personnel, equipment, investments and in addition, we will co-lead a project in Spain for the integration of devices and medical imaging of the Digital Transformation Plan for Primary Care at the national level “.

In another context, the president also had a reminder of women who remain victims of sexist violence, against which “we must continue to work from public policies and, hand in hand with society, for real and effective equality, for co-education and for put an end once and for all to this violence which has many manifestations, some less visible, but equally intolerable in a democratic society”.
