The Supreme Court (TS) has ratified this Tuesday the big beliefs imposed on the three former leaders of the PNV in Álava for corruption related to the Miguel’s case, the largest corruption trial in Euskadi. The Supreme Court’s verdict comes three years after the order of the Provincial Court of Álava was made public and responds to the appeals of the three convicts.
The provincial court sentenced the three defendants – Alfredo de Miguel, Koldo Ochandiano and Aitor Telleria – to prison terms of 13 to 6 years, although it set a maximum effective prison term of 9 to 6 years. The Supreme Court has endorsed the positions of the Court of Álava, although it does slightly lower penalties. No one will therefore escape their entry into prison.
