It is eagerly awaited – SPÖ-NÖ boss makes “personal statement”.

Date:

High voltage for a press conference in Lower Austria. 18 days before the state elections there, SPÖ-NÖ leader Franz Schnabl steps in front of the cameras to make a “personal statement”. That alone already made the rumor mill boil in advance – and a statement of facts from the prosecutor’s office for economics and corruption has just been published.

The announcement of the press date (from about 1pm at the top of the livestream) had already caused a stir the day before as it had been billed as a “personal statement”. A layoff, as this wording usually suggests, should not be imminent. On the contrary, it will probably go to the election campaign. As is known, Lower Austria will elect a new state parliament on 29 January.

Meanwhile, a statement of facts from the WKStA is circulating, accusing Schnabl of holding a stake in the former Vienna Alizee Bank – according to the newspaper, Schnabl probably invested several million euros in the bank, which has since gone bankrupt, which now has to be reviewed . The letter is also available for the “Krone”.

According to the SPÖ, it was not initially intended that Schnabl would comment on this. According to information from the “NÖ-Krone”, Schnabl wants to claim the provincial governor – the FPÖ already did that a month and a half ago.
