According to research center The Citizen Lab, there have been at least 51 attacks with the Pegasus program, in addition to 12 failed attempts. The list of spies is mostly made up of Catalan pro-independence politicians, although Arnaldo Otegi and Jon Iñárritu are also on it.
At least 65 Catalan and Basque pro-independence politicians and their entourage have faced espionage attempts, according to an investigation published by the newspaper. The New Yorker and The Citizen Lab research center at the University of Toronto In total, in addition to 12 attempts, the center has confirmed at least 51 successful attacks involving Pegasus. Likewise, it has registered at least four cases related to the Candiru program.
The Citizen Lab does not attribute the espionage operations to any entity, “but strong circumstantial evidence suggests a link to Spanish authorities.” This is the list of the spies:
