Candidate Franz Schnabl from Lower Austria also relies on the Doskozil factor in his election campaign. An analyst in the “Krone”: “Adventurous.”
The governor of Burgenland, Hans Peter Doskozil, accepted the invitation of Lower Austria’s best candidate, Franz Schnabl, to come to Wiener Neustadt. Schnabl hopes for momentum from his important party colleague in the election campaign, in which the FPÖ did better than his SPÖ in polls.
Exuberant praise for Doskozil
Schnabl exuberantly praised the boss from Burgenland as a role model. In view of the internal SPÖ debate on whether Doskozil would be the better federal candidate than Pamela Rendi-Wagner, another remarkable episode.
“The SPÖ has a leadership problem”
“That’s adventurous,” says political analyst Peter Plaikner. One cannot compare Burgenland with the system of proportional representation in Lower Austria. Plaikner sees Schnabl, like the SPÖ in general, as wandering at the moment. This is also evident from surveys. “The SPÖ has a leadership problem.” One should try to fish in the left spectrum. “Instead, it works like this: the FPÖ jumps in on the asylum issue, the ÖVP jumps in, the SPÖ as a third party at some point.”
