Treasury Secretary Magnus Brunner is “on the mend” after his accident last week, but will “remain under clinical observation in hospital until the end of the week,” the ministry said. Even after that, Brunner can’t really get off the ground.
The politician will continue to conduct official business from home for another week, the ministry said. In the meantime, appointments that cannot be postponed will be handled by State Secretary Florian Tursky (both ÖVP).

Brunner thanked for the countless recovery wishes. The finance minister fell on his way home on an e-scooter on Thursday evening and suffered a head injury.
As was told from Brunner’s circle, the minister is often out and about with a scooter. Just over a year ago, the sporting minister had to walk through the political arena on crutches after injuring his ankle when he fell down a flight of stairs.
