The GDP has “shown his most resounding condemnation” for the attack of one of his councilors ibarra (Gipuzcoa), Juan Luis Cid, 66 years old. In this sense, the jeltzal formation has labeled as “unacceptable” that there are still “people who do not accept the coexistence of different ways of thinking” and that there are still people who “want the only thought impose”.
The attack took place last Saturday afternoon (6.15 pm), in the middle of the street. According to the PNV, the attacker insulted the mayor in a note “for no reason” and then sent him a punch to the face and kick in the abdomen, “while insulting the PNV, in front of civilians who witnessed the attack without doing anything”, he denounced.
The ertzintza has opened an investigation after denouncing the attack by Cid, albeit tentatively made no arrests.
The Basque Nationalist Party assures that Ibarra’s PNV councilors have long faced “voids, insults, bad looks”, adding that this aggression has been “the straw that broke the camel’s back”.
According to critics, “it is a clear example that in our city, in our society, there are still people who do not accept the coexistence of different ways of thinking; there are people who still want to impose a single thought; and that is unacceptable. This attitude has no place in Ibarra and must end once and for all. We demand that all people be respected, regardless of their ideology, militancy or political affinity.”
