The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) is calling for an increase in pensions by 120 euros per month for everyone as part of an “emergency pension policy demand”. With this demand, the alliance is participating in the German federal election campaign in 2025.
“We need an additional pension increase of 120 euros per month for everyone to immediately compensate for inflation,” Wagenknecht said, according to the preliminary report from the editorial network Germany (RND).
Women in particular should benefit from this
The general pension increase for everyone would be especially effective for lower income groups, Wagenknecht said, according to the RND’s preliminary report. “Retirees with small and medium salaries, especially women, would benefit disproportionately from such an increase.”
Wagenknecht said nothing about financing the immediate general increase in pensions.
