The mayoral candidate of Vitoria-Gasteiz and spokesman for the People’s Party of Vitoria, Ainhoa Domaica, this Saturday asked for the special unit of the local police to be immediately “reinforced” over the weekend to “stop the escalation of insecurity to cut” in the capital and “give peace of mind to families and young people.
In an act in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Domaica referred to the Local Police Prevention and Support Group (GPA), which, along with the PNV and the PSOE, is reported to be “at an all-time low” as “it has reduced its officers by more than 45 %, going from 35 when this device was made in 2012 to just 19”.
In addition, regarding the GPA’s interventions, he warned that “they have also been significantly reduced since 2012, specifically by almost half”.
