“Disgusting race” – Rendi-Wagner: right shock warning – with a side swipe

Date:

SPÖ leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner used her performance at the Viennese Social Democrats’ club retreat to warn of a shift to the right in her own organisation. Anyone who recommends that the SPÖ move a little to the right is not doing well with the party, she said Tuesday morning at the event in Frauenkirchen in Burgenland. There, the Viennese party leader Michael Ludwig then presented a “housing bonus”.

Rendi-Wagner’s statements can be understood as a message to the Burgenland governor, Hans Peter Doskozil, who follows a rigid course, especially on asylum issues, and is Rendi-Wagner’s fiercest opponent within the party . The party leader did not personally speak to Doskozil, but she called for unity within the party: “Together we are unbeatable.”

“It goes without saying that majorities decide”
She also applauded that there were different points of view in her own organization, “but it is just as natural that majorities decide”. In terms of content, Rendi-Wagner moved between constant criticism of the federal government’s lack of anti-inflation measures – key word: rent increase freeze and VAT suspension – and the immigration policy of the FPÖ and ÖVP.

No place in the “disgusting race” to deport children
In the “disgusting race” between the two sides to see who would deport more children, the SPÖ had lost nothing, according to the federal party leader. It must be unwavering for the Social Democrats to resist with all their might against incendiary policies that divide society.

Demonstrative proximity to Ludwig
Rendi-Wagner did not immediately comment on the highly anticipated federal commissions on Wednesday, where an early party conference could be decided, but she thanked Ludwig for his support “not just in recent days”. That is not self-evident. At the start of the session, Ludwig and Rendi-Wagner entered the seminar room together to the sounds of Tina Turner’s “Simply The Best”.

Ludwig: Chancellor’s next target
Ludwig disseminated the federal party leader Rosen: “I am glad that the Vienna SPÖ is always heard in the federal SPÖ.” That is why they are also on the side of the federal party. If you choose a person and put them in the foreground, this person can expect you to support him or her, Ludwig warned the party to unite. Everything must be done together to ensure that Rendi-Wagner becomes Chancellor after the next National Council elections.

“Housing bonus” for 650,000 Viennese households
In terms of content, the Viennese SPÖ boss announced a housing support program that, as he stressed, would not only benefit people living in municipal housing. This includes, for example, the Vienna “housing bonus”. It is intended for a maximum of 650,000 Viennese households who can apply for a subsidy of 200 euros. The criterion for receipt is the annual income.
