Date:

It has required the municipalities of Galdakao, Orio, Oiartzun, Hernani, Amasa-Villabona and Azpeitia to review within a maximum period of one month the “equalization” that they believe has been made between victims and former members of expected arrival time.

The Government Delegation in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) has asked the municipalities to Galdakao, Orio, Oiartzun, Hernani, Amasa-Villabona and Azpeitiaall piloted by E. H. Bilduwho remove websites from their memory within a period of up to one month “equalization” which in his opinion is done between victims and ex-members of ETA as it violates the law on victims. In addition, it has warned that if this requirement is not met, the prosecutor will “take the relevant actions”.

In particular, it has asked the town halls to remove from their web pages oroimena to “persons belonging to the terrorist group ETA, fugitives from justice or convicted of a crime of terrorism in the event that they have entered their names among the alleged victims”.

As stated in a statement by the government delegation, “they homologate the members of ETA with those killed by the terrorist gang”, while affirming that “they have been victims of violations of their rights”.

In case of non-compliance with this requirement, the delegation has warned that the Prosecutor will “take the relevant measures to achieve his due compliance” as Article 61 of the Law on Recognition and Comprehensive Protection of Victims of Terrorism is violated.

The requirement does not affect others who have a similar web page, such as the city councils of erandium And toulouseboth controlled by the PNVas the delegation has verified that they have issued instructions to deactivate said pages.
