In his opinion, there is a “serious re-condemnation of the victims of torture” and Olona’s statements are “more serious insofar as this deputy has been a state lawyer and has also heard shocking stories of torture in court”.
After complaining about “the minor institutional response this intervention has provoked,” he announces that he will address a letter to the President of Congress asking “for the protection of the victims in light of these grave events.” and that it will demand a public rectification”.
“We will also send you the reports of torture cases performed for the Basque and Navarrese governments by the Basque Institute of Criminology”, he adds, while also asking the executives of Euskadi and Navarra “an institutional response in the same direction”.
