On behalf of the CUP, deputies Carles Riera and Albert Botran and former deputy David Fernàndez filed the complaint. Òmnium Cultural, in turn, has filed a complaint on behalf of, among others, the former vice president of the entity Marcel Mauri.
The people affected by the political espionage with Pegasus of Òmnium Cultural and the CUP have filed complaints with the investigating judge 32 of Barcelona, who is already investigating the espionage with the mobile phones of Minister Roger Torrent and ERC councilor Ernest Maragall.
As indicated by the CUP in a statement, CUP deputies Carles Riera and Albert Botran, as well as former deputy David Fernàndez, filed a lawsuit on Monday for political espionage.
The complaint specifies a crime against privacy and, more specifically, “discovery and disclosure of secrets”.
Òmnium Cultural, for its part, has reported that it has filed a complaint on behalf of the former vice president of the entity Marcel Mauri, the head of the international space Elena Jiménez and Txell Bonet, journalist and companion of former president Jordi Cuixart.
The lawsuits are against NSO Group, the Israeli company that owns Pegasus software, as a legal entity and against “any other person” who could be involved in the investigation. Specifically, they ask to investigate whether the CNI, the National Police, the Guardia Civil or cybersecurity agencies were involved.
Both formations are also calling for a private prosecution in the case.
