The Basque Consumer Institute recommends that you pay extra attention to the conditions for canceling travel and holiday packages before the call for general elections on July 23.
Given the situation created by the call for general elections On July 23, the Basque Consumer Institute consumobide recommend paying special attention to the cancellation conditions of travel, flights or holiday packages during your contract.
Consumers may be forced to cancel or change their holidays, if they have to be part of a polling station.
To avoid undesirable situations, it is advisable to pay special attention to the cancellation or modification conditions, clarify any doubts and request the hypothetical cancellation conditions in writing before signing a contract.
If the person chooses to take out travel cancellation or change insurance, he must ensure in advance that the eventuality to be appointed as a member of a polling station is covered by said policy.
If you need to cancel or change the trip and cannot reach an agreement with the company you booked the trip with, the first step is to submit a claim before the company contracted. This company must respond within a period of less than one month.
If no satisfactory answer is obtained, there are several settings that we must go to depending on the contracted service: in the case of a flight, to ON THAT (state air safety agency); in the case of holiday packages or combined travel, to the corresponding regional tourist office; and in the case of hotel stays, up to consumobide or a Municipal Consumer tion Point (OMIC).
