31.3 million euros – guidelines for Corona relief fund Lower Austria established

Date:

The Lower Austrian Covid Relief Fund for Corona Consequences, which was passed on May 25 at the state parliament in St. Pölten, is starting its work. According to information from Thursday, the guidelines are fully developed and will be enacted by the state government next Tuesday (June 27). At the same time, compensation for fines imposed on the basis of laws repealed by the Constitutional Court (VfGH) will start.

The Coronafonds has 31.3 million euros at its disposal. The funds are available for children, families, anyone affected by the Covid 19 measures and for Lower Austrians suffering from Long Covid consequences and vaccination disorders.

“broad middle of the population”
“The broad middle of the population does not want to exclude and incite each other, but back to normalcy. An important part of this is a fair processing of the pandemic,” Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP) emphasized in a broadcast. Less than one percent will have to be spent “for the longstanding SPÖ and NEOS demand for compensation payments for unconstitutional punishments.

With the bulk of the money, we support people suffering from Long Covid, children and young people who have fallen behind in school and clubs that promote sports and social life,” said the governor. The funds must be quickly and easily accessible.

“On behalf of the voters”
“With the aid fund we ensure justice. This is the turning point, entirely on behalf of the voters,” said Deputy Governor Udo Landbauer (FPÖ). The injustices of recent years have been dealt with ruthlessly. “We have done everything possible. The reparations are also a reminder that the freedom and fundamental rights of our people are non-negotiable,” said Landbauer.

After the decision in the state government, the process will begin to compensate the people whose sentences have been lifted by the Constitutional Court. “The guidelines that we will set next Tuesday in the state government must pass scrutiny by the Federal Court of Auditors, there is no doubt about that. Those applying for grants must meet the requirements and be able to provide supporting documents. on the measures, which now expect a rain of money without legal basis, “explains State Councilor Ludwig Schleritzko (ÖVP).

grants for clubs
Clubs advocating for the interests of people damaged or weakened by Covid 19 vaccinations or diseases are also funded, as are leisure activities for children and young people.
