In a TV interview, the President of the National Council, Wolfgang Sobotka, gave insight into what Parliament will focus on in 2024: “Next year we will be dealing with artificial intelligence en masse. It will revolutionize a lot, ChatGPT already gives insight into it.” However, it is not always logical what comes out when using ChatGPT.
In order to always be able to keep up with current developments, the House will in any case be intensively involved in AI and digitization. Sobotka also gave an insight into the modus operandi of the “intruder” who reached the government bench in the plenary hall of parliament on Wednesday this week: “The man passed through the parliament’s security check, but when entering the plenary hall, he was not stopped either even though he only had access for the gallery, which was a mistake and was discussed intensively to prevent something like this in the future.”
Behavior among MPs is getting better
From Sobotka’s point of view, about as many “calls to order” were imposed in the first half of the year as before the move from the Hofburg to the completely renovated parliament, but in general the behavior of the MPs towards each other is the last time slightly improved.
Many other explosive details, such as Sobotka’s take on the much-cited “Golden Piano” in Parliament and fundamentally negative influences on current plenary sessions, can be seen in the video above.
