A total of 1,789,071 people are called to the polls in the parliamentary elections on July 23 in the cav, of which 80,374 currently reside abroad. Compared to the last electoral nomination of 28 million, the number of citizens entitled to vote has increased by nearly 80,000 people.
According to the data provided by the government delegation in the CAV, they made it possible 5,390 ballot boxes and 2,695 tables spread over 719 polling stations, 102 in Álava, 340 in Bizkaia and 277 in Gipuzkoa. In addition, more than 18 million votes with candidacies for Congress and the Senate. For its part, the security apparatus will be assembled for next Sunday 1,552 agents: 1,217 ertzainas, 200 state police officers, 100 vigilantes and 35 municipal police officers.
A total of 8,085 people are named as titular members of the polling station (chairmen and first and second members) and 16,170 as deputies, while 2,129 representatives of the General State Administration will ensure the proper functioning of Election Day.
The government representative in the Basque Country, Denis Itxaso, explained in a note that these workers will have 901 tablets for the transmission of information after polling stations close, which will cover practically the entire electoral roll.
Data transfer using this technology will take place at almost all polling stations, except 22 (all in Gipuzkoa), which will be done by telephone due to logistical and coverage issues.
The Ministry of the Interior has made the table manual available in an easy-to-read version to those appointed to the polling stations, with the aim of making this information accessible to anyone who needs it.
