Last Monday, the electoral body rejected the Socialists’ request to recount the votes of more than 30,000 invalid votes registered in Madrid.

The sources have indicated that they have not yet decided on the date on which they will file this appeal, one week after the establishment of the General cuts with the results of the July 23 elections. According to the JEC’s resolution, to take “so serious a decision” as the review of the general inquiry by the Provincial Electoral Council of Madrid, “it is necessary to put forward weighty arguments”, and instead emphasizes that the PSOE “no cause or indication of irregularity” in dealing with invalid votes, and the procedure followed is not even questioned.
