The former president of the Generalitat and current Junts MEP has said his party’s position has not changed despite the pressure. On the other hand, BNG has confirmed that it will vote for the PSOE candidate to preside over Congress. In addition, it will support that ERC and Junts have their own group.
The former president of the Generalitat and MEP of Junts, Carlo Puigdemonthas asked for “verifiable facts before voting” for both the inauguration and the Congress table.
“We cannot move forward nationally based on promises made by those who always break them,” he said in a post on his social networks.
He has pointed out that Junts’ position has not changed despite the existing pressure: “We have no faith in the Spanish political parties, all precautions are small and promises do not heat or cool us.”
Puigdemont has maintained that this mistrust “based on real events” will not disappear with agreement, and that a disagreement will not deepen this mistrust.
