Date:

The JxCat manager meets electronically to decide on the vote that will determine the balance of the vote.

Today from 10 am the Cortes Generales are formed after 23J elections. The main point of the day will be the choice the conference tablegoverning body of the Congress of Deputies.

Over the past week, the parties have been involved in negotiations to gain control of what is the third most important institution in the state, after the king and the president of the Spanish government, although not all sides have given any indication of their intention to vote for this day.

The Constituent Session of Congress begins at 10 a.m. with the nomination of the age table that will guide the vote. The presidency will be given to the oldest deputy, in this case the former socialist minister Cristina Narbona, who will be assisted as secretaries by the two youngest parliamentarians, also from the PSOE: Ada Santana from the Canary Islands and Catalan Ferrán Verdejo.

After reading the names of the 350 elected delegates, the congressional presidency election will proceed. by secret ballot and ballot box. The parliamentarians write a name on a ballot and the person who obtains an absolute majority is elected or, failing that, the vote is repeated and it is enough to have more votes.

The PSOE will nominate the former president of the Balearic Islands Francina Armengol to preside over the Congress of Deputies. Besides the PSOE, there are several groups that assure their support for the socialist proposal; This is the case with Sumar and the BNG, which are also expected to receive the votes of the PNV, EH Bildu and ERC. The final decision of Junts, whose favorable photo the socialists need, is still up in the air.

Junts and Canary coalition pending

It will only take a few minutes for Congress to compile that position togetheressential to achieve that majority. The party board has been meeting since 8 a.m. to discuss the direction of the votes of its seven deputies. That reports the digital newspaper Bornthe nationalist formation is discussed between abstention or invalid vote, but voted in favor of the Socialist candidate. In a message published on his social networks, the former president of the Generalitat and MEP of Junts, Carlo Puigdemontpointed out this Wednesday that Junts’ position has not changed despite the existing pressure.

EH Bildu, with six representatives, has no special interest in being part of the congressional table and the last legislature has not even claimed a committee chairmanship. What he does want is for the next table to have a progressive majority and not be dominated by PP and Vox. Also for him GDP (five alternates) It is better to chair a committee than to occupy a position in the Bureau.

For his part, the Vice-Elect of the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG), Néstor Rego, confirmed that he will vote for the PSOE candidate to preside over Congress. Having said this, he supported ERC and Junts having their own parliamentary group as that would “lighten up” the Mixed Group.

In fact, CKD He assures that the table should be chaired by the PSOE, as he believes this is the way to advance the Catalan agenda, but asks in return to be allowed to have his own parliamentary group. In any case, he has announced in recent hours that there is still no agreement with the PSOE, warning that it would be “reckless” to take their votes for granted.

The spokesperson for PSOEPilar Alegría, defended last Tuesday that the Congress table should reflect the result “usually progressive” of the July 23 elections and called for “caution and dialogue”. Meanwhile, the elected deputy Enrique Santiago (Add) defended the presence of nationalist forces at the congress table in statements to Radio Euskadi.

The PP presents its general secretary, Cuca Gamarra, and calculates a support of 171 votes: 137 from the PP, 33 from Vox and one from UPN. The only substitute Canarian CoalitionCristina Valido, whose position is still unknown, will be decisive if the left and nationalist groups get the seven Junts MPs to abstain.

Then, in another secret ballot and ballot box vote, the four vice presidents. Each alternate can write only one name and the positions fall to the four names with the most votes.

The left has already announced its two candidates, the socialist Alfonso Rodríguez Gómez de Celis and the deputy of Sumar Esther Gil, and the PP has proposed two other names (Marta González and José Antonio Bermúdez de Castro). Vox had claimed one of four places from Feijóo’s men.

Thus someone can be omitted from the vice-presidencies, be it Vox or Sumar if, by dividing their 171 votes, the judge manages to take three of the four contending seats,

The situation will repeat itself in the next vote, when it is necessary to elect the four secretariats. The left proposes the socialist Isaura Leal, and the deputy of En Comú Gerardo Pisarello, and the PP has announced Guillermo Mariscal and Carmen Navarro.

Senate

On the other hand, the composition of the XV Senate Legislature will be made with 259 senators of the 265 who make up the total of the Senateas the six parliamentarians in Murcia, Aragon, Asturias, La Rioja and Navarra have yet to be appointed after the 28 million regional elections.

This drops the absolute majority in the first plenary session of this legislature to 130 senators, although In no case is the absolute majority of the PP in dangeras he won in the elections last July 23 120 senators electedwhich, if added to the 21 parliamentarians appointed by the rest of the communities, would reach 141 seats.

In this first decision, the people will assert their absolute majority in favor of the Presidency of the Senatewhat will be for John Rollan.
