Sumar has loaned two deputies to the ERC and the PSOE four to Junts. Loaning deputies is a common practice, although it requires board approval. After assembling the eight groups, the Chamber will be able to organize the chamber and resolve previous issues to start the legislature.

And in the present case it could be interpreted that there are representatives of Sumar in two parliamentary groups (Sumar and ERC), and of the PSOE in two (Socialista and Junts).
Parliamentary sources expect the PP and Vox will be “very vigilant”. with the writings on file and it cannot be ruled out that there may eventually be an appeal against the consent of the ERC and Junts groups.
Benefits of having your own group
Having your own group means great political, economic and media benefits. Whoever forms it has guaranteed representation in all parliamentary committees, in the Permanent Deputation and a voice of its own in the Council of Spokespersons and the possibility to intervene in all debates on equal terms; while speaking times and committee seats must be allocated within the Mixed Group. In the control sessions, having its own group allows the introduction of quotas for questions and interpellations to debate with the government on a weekly basis, as well as advantages when it comes to including its non-legislative proposals in plenary sessions; on the other hand, in the Mixed Group all that ‘piece of pie’ must be shared equally.
On the economic front, having a group gives access to two types of grants: the grant awarded to each group by Congress – $364,160.64 per year (30,346.72 per month) during the last legislature – and the grant which the state provides free of charge. delivery of election propaganda during the campaign (mailing).
And the benefits will be extended for the next election, as those who now get it from their own group will have the opportunity to be present at future election debates and information coverage plans in the public media. For example, Junts was left out of RTVE’s debates and coverage plans in the 23J campaign because it failed to reach a group of its own four years ago, instead sharing it with PDeCAT, BNG, Compromís and Más País.
