48 hours before Feijóo’s inauguration, the Popular Party called for demonstrations in rejection of the amnesty requested by the independence movement. Former presidents of the Spanish government, as well as regional presidents or current leaders such as Carlos Iturgaiz, attended the event.
The Popular Party gathered its supporters this Sunday at an event on Madrid’s Felipe II Avenue, starring the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, 48 hours after his inauguration. in rejecting the amnesty what the Catalan independence movement is calling for.
The PP supporters cheered the inauguration candidate upon his arrival and also applauded the regional presidents who, like Isabel Diaz Ayuso or Juanma Morenohave supported Feijóo and the former presidents of the Spanish government José Maria Aznar And Mariano Rajoy.
The President of the Basque PP, Carlos Iturgaizalso took part in the event and pointed out in statements to the media that “Sánchez plans to form a government with Josu Ternera’s colleagues”, referring to former ETA prisoner Josu Urrutikoetxea.
