Shortly after State Secretary Florian Tursky for digitalization was officially nominated on Tuesday as the top candidate for the municipal elections in April 2024 by the Innsbruck ÖVP, the List for Innsbruck (FI) and the Senior Citizens’ Association, the 35-year-old made his first statement about Bergisel about this (see video) .
As a resident of Innsbruck, it hurts him when he sees what is currently happening in city politics. “Disputes, personal sensitivities and ideology are at the forefront,” Tursky complained in his first statement after announcing his candidacy. City politics is currently much more concerned with ‘itself’ than with matters that ‘should actually be concerned with’, the State Secretary criticized.
Tursky has a “very clear goal”
For his candidacy, the three middle-class factions of the city council have come together for the first time in thirty years – with a “very clear goal”, as Tursky emphasizes: they want to appoint the mayor, make Innsbruck governable and also move the city forward again. “It’s now about Innsbruck,” said the top candidate, who determined the direction.
