The Vice-President of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) issued an injunction on Tuesday that for the time being the parliamentary immunity to the former President of the Generalitat, Carles Puigdemontand his former ministers Toni Comín and Clara Ponsatí, all three holding seats as MEPs for JxCAT.

This ruling overturns a previous decision in which the European Court of Justice rejected precautionary measures for the three politicians, as the withdrawal of immunity would not affect their travels as MPs, nor was there any evidence that they could be arrested at short notice, prompting urgent action was justified.

For example, the Vice-President of the Court of Justice of the EU annuls the order issued in July last year by the Vice-President of the General Court of the EU and suspends the decisions of the European Parliament approving the petitions, although it is an interim measure as the appeal is essentially still pending.
