European Parliament member Jeltzale Izaskun Bilbao will not remain in office for the next term as she announced her decision not to run in the 2024 European elections.
After serving three terms as a member of the European Parliament, the PNV must now start a new one process for choosing a candidate.
As he explained at the press conference to announce the decision, he now does not intend to “take on another political responsibility”, since, as he recalled, he has worked in politics from a very young age, in positions “with quite a bit of responsibility,” and he believes he cycle has ended“.
The MEP made the announcement during an appearance at the PNV headquarters in Bilbao, indicating her intention to remain in the European Chamber “until the last day” of the current legislature “with the same intensity of work.”
