The chairman of the PNV GBB, Joseba Egibar, will not run as a parliamentarian on the PNV lists for the next regional elections in 2024, and Markel Olano, former deputy general of Gipuzkoa, will join the Jeltzale candidacy , as EITB has learned. According to the same sources, Egibar has decided not to appear again as a candidate in the elections for the Basque Chamber. The chairman of the GBB and member of the National Board of the PNV has been a Basque parliamentarian since 1990 and spokesperson for Jeltzale in the Basque Chamber since 1998.
The PNV’s Euskadi Buru Batzar will meet this afternoon in Sabin Etxea to determine the lists to be presented in the next elections for the Basque Parliament. According to the party’s statutes, it is up to the leadership to propose 60% of the lists.
As the internal process of preparing candidates progresses, the PNV will decide who will lead the lists for Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.
