The plenary meeting of the General Assemblies of Bizkaia this Friday finally approved the budgets of this territory for 2024 with votes in favor of the groups of the regional government, PNV and PSE-EE, which did not accept any of the amendments of the three. opposition groups.

EH Bildu, PP and Elkarrekin Podemos-IU, whose amendments had already been rejected in their entirety at a previous plenary session, voted against the budget opinion after seeing that the 388 partial amendments they had tabled on the project were rejected today, as reported by the Provincial Chamber.

With full approval this Friday, the budget project concludes its processing at the General Assemblies, amounting to 10,308 million, 5.1% more than this year, with a departmental available amount of 1,599.1 million, 3.8% more. This is the only one of the three CAV deputies that will have bills for 2024, as these have been expanded in Gipuzkoa and Álava because the PNV and PSE-EE governments do not have a majority.

It is the first budget of the new regional government led by Elixabete Etxanobe as deputy general after last May’s elections.

During the plenary session held by the Provincial Chamber in Gernika, the spokespersons of the three opposition groups criticized the Provincial Executive parties for the rejection of all their amendments. “incredible” that “nine budgets” are implemented without accepting any contribution from the opposition.

The two groups supporting the regional government have defended the budgets ‘strict’ and ‘fair’and that they aim to continue advancing “the strategic transformations” of Bizkaia in a mandate that identifies 120 priority actions.
