The Basque PP parliamentarian Laura Garrido has not clarified whether the amendment to the amnesty law, presented by the Popular Party, would in practice lead to the illegalization of political parties making declarations of independence and “illegal referenda”. In any case, he has denounced that the Sánchez government has “decriminalized” several crimes and that it is therefore “convenient” for some acts to be included as crimes in the Criminal Code. Barring any surprises, the amnesty law will be passed in the Congress of Deputies, but the Popular Party is trying to delay its adoption.
In an interview with Euskadi Irratia, Garrido denounced that the PSN Mayor of Pamplona to EH Bildu. In his opinion, what Pedro Sánchez and the Socialist Parties say about EH Bildu has no credibility, and he recalled that they said on several occasions that they would not sign any pact with the nationalist coalition, and that in the end they did so.
Look forward to elections for the Basque parliament which will take place in 2024, has emphasized that the only alternative is the Popular Party. According to him, PNV, EH Bildu, Socialist Party and Podemos are all going together in Madrid and “here they are pursuing the same policy.”
In a different turn of events, Garrido has denounced that Osakidetza “we are clearly paying the consequences of this nationalist and identity policy”, since, to “the enormous lack of professionals” that exists everywhere, “the powers that be have added a special obstacle here, namely the value that the Basque language has in many OPEs, which has been completely decisive.
