“Equal rights” – #papabeing: Chancellery actively promotes fatherhood

Date:

The Federal Chancellery wants to strengthen father participation with an online campaign starting Friday and an information platform. The aim is to increase awareness about father’s leave and daddy month, but also about the value of an active father’s role and equal parenting.

The partnership-based distribution not only has added value for families, but also for society, emphasizes Minister of Family Susanne Raab (ÖVP).

Fathers talk about their experiences in videos
Under the hashtag #papasein, the Federal Chancellery shows videos of fathers who report on “beautiful but also challenging experiences with their children” on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, among others, according to a press release.

TV presenters Florian Danner and Werner Sejka (PULS 4) and Andreas Onea (ORF) can be seen, among others. “The advantage of my active role as a father is that I not only get to see my little one grow up, but I can also help shape it,” says Onea.

Finally, the new platform provides information on, among other things, the legal framework for daddy month, parental leave or part-time work and financial support services such as family time bonuses or childcare allowances.
