Sánchez praises Podemos and coalition’s “great team” despite voting different from PSOE

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezpraised his partners at United We Can and the coalition government this Thursday, which he has defined as a “great team,” a day after the executive’s minority partner avoided supporting a bill passed in the Council of Ministers by on another way to vote the PSOE.

In his speech at the presentation of the Strategic Project for the Social and Care Economy in La Moncloa, Sánchez devoted several minutes at the beginning of his speech to praise the work of all members of the Executive and repeatedly mentioned the “Progressive coalition government”.

The Chief Executive expressed his gratitude and “proud” and described the coalition as a “great team” accompanying the Spaniards in overcoming the current crisis “despite the difficulties”.

For example, he has indicated that “the progressive coalition government” works “above all the adversities and difficulties” that Spanish society is going through and has mentioned a series of measures that the executive has approved throughout the legislature, since the increase of scholarships and pensions to the labor reform, the increase of the minimum wage and the expansion of the vital minimum income.

“We’ve done a lot, but we still have a lot to do,” Sánchez added, implying that legislature continues despite the coalition’s first split in the vote on a bill.

This Thursday, PSOE and United We Can voted in a different direction in Congressional plenary on a coalition government-approved bill they share: it is the Audiovisual lawwhich was supported by the socialists, while the purple chose to abstain.
