After the about 15-minute conversation between the US President and the Ukrainian head of the state of Wolodyymyr Senskyj, Donald Trump is now again aligned differently against the Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin.
The promise to be able to end the war in just 24 hours has now become a painful back and forth. In the end, the Republican – again – had not left good hair to Senskyj: with his posture he would only pull the bloodshed in Ukraine in length, Trump, for example, threw his Ukrainian counterpart against his head.
Threat of sanctions
In the meantime, however, the American spreads doubts about Putin’s agenda. “I think he may not end the war at all, but only leads me to the nose and should be treated differently by ‘banking’ or ‘secondary sanctions’ (measures against third countries, companies or people who continue to do business with Russia)?
After all, there was no reason for Putin to shoot rockets in civilian areas, towns and villages in Ukraine in recent days. “It reminds me: maybe he doesn’t want to end the war at all, but he just keeps me and must be treated differently (…),” Trump wondered.
Crimmer’s Island again and again in negotiations
In his contribution to the Truth Social, Trump also emphasized that a return from the Crimean protection to Ukraine in 2014 from Russia was a “ridiculous requirement”. The Republican again wrote that the war could never have started and would not have started if he had been president at the time.
The American head of state wants to end the Russian aggression war in Ukraine and also get Senskyj concessions. So far, Senskyj had categorically rejected an exemption from the Zwarte Sea peninsula or other areas absorbed by Moscow in eastern Ukraine. On Friday, after conversations from his special Steve Witkoff in Moscow, Trump wrote that the negotiations to end the war in Ukraine were about to have a result.
Putin not in Rome at the funeral service
Russia was only represented at the funeral service in Rome with Minister of Culture Olga Ljubimowa. The leadership in Moscow speaks about progress in negotiations with Washington, but indicates that detailed questions still have to be clarified for the termination of the war.
After the conversations with Witkoff, Moscow was again openly opened for direct negotiations with Ukraine – such as at the start of the Russian attack war 2022. Until now, Kremlin chef has always asked Putin to withdraw Selenskyj to withdraw his decree that prohibits such negotiations.
