From online orders – Host as a Tax Siner: 230,000 euros has been avoided

Date:

A Tyrolean restaurant holder has hidden the sale from online orders and has avoided no less than 230,000 euros in taxes in this way. The suspect was crazy because sales platforms are obliged to automatically send their sales data to the financial administration. Now it is really expensive for the suspect.

Since the beginning of 2020, platform operators who make the sale of goods and services in Austria have made detailed information about the sale of the sale and report to the authorities. This includes, for example, the identity of the seller, his bank details, the amount of the sale and a description of the proceedings. This is exactly what the alleged tax fraudster was caught.

Tax office noted irregularities
The 40-year-old did not have specified customers’ sells through online platforms for food and drink, the Ministry of Finance said in a broadcast on Sunday. Thanks to the sent platform data, the tax office became aware of the irregularities and an audit was arranged.

The thing finally became too hot for the suspect. “Under the pressure of knowledge about the presence of the data, the entrepreneur solved self -procedure for the investigation,” said the Ministry of Finance.

Now prescribed 286,000 euros
The host now expects a juicy fine: the evasive and reduced taxes were increased by 20 percent, including the entrepreneur, including the standard surcharges and interest, around 286,000 euros were prescribed.
