Imanol Pradales was unanimously declared the candidate for lehendakari

Imanol Pradales is now officially the PNV candidate for lehendakari in the next regional elections after the party’s National Assembly unanimously endorsed his candidacy today in Durango.

In the same way, the Basque Nationalist Party has presented the lists of territorial candidates. Pradales will top the list for Bizkaia, Bakartxo Tejería will top the list for Gipuzkoa and Joseba Díez Antxustegi will do the same on the list for Álava. Likewise, the party has confirmed that Oihane Agirregoitia will top the Jeltzale list in the European Parliament elections.

In his speech said Imanol Pradalesthe current deputy for Infrastructure and Territorial Development of Bizkaia, has shown his willingness to do so leading “a new transformation” to a ‘new Euskadi of well-being, reliable and global, a reference for stability and which uses all its political power at European and international level. “A Euskadi of well-being with a soul and its own voice in the world.”

The candidate has listed the elements that characterize his “agenda of well-being and freedom”, whose “top priority will be to improve public health”, in addition to guaranteeing the best healthcare system, creating wealth and quality employment, promoting excellent education, effective equality between women and men, youth empowerment and housing, security and Basque.

In a global context where “we have many shocks and no security”, he has advocated “weaving networks and new alliances in Europe and the world that defend the interests” of Basque citizens. “Euskadi must globalize its influence. More political, economic and social presence on the international stage, in multilateral organizations, in global networks.”

At the same time, he has called for “concrete solutions to the real problems of the real Euskadi”, by agreeing with those who think differently and involving society more. “Talking, negotiating and reaching agreement is the only way, because governing is managing, prioritizing, deciding… is working together.” Finally, Pradales has demonstrated his commitment to achieving “more and better self-government, so that the Basque Country becomes the master of its own destiny.”

The chairman of the EBB of the PNV, Andoni Ortuzar, is convinced that the PNV will win the next Basque elections and has called on its bases to mobilize “more than ever” and “make a difference” to those who want them to be “nervous” and try to “dispose” them . Similarly, he has stated that the Jeltzale party is “neither about paralysis nor about revolutions,” but about “evolution for the better.”
