The Political Table of Gipuzkoa has endorsed the proposal of the Political Table of Hegoalde to have Nerea Kortajaarna head the list of EH Bildu for Gipuzkoa in the next elections to the Basque Parliament, as reported by the pro-sovereignty coalition in a note.
Nerea Kortajaarna Ibañez (San Sebastián, 1974) has been a social worker and parliamentarian in the Basque Parliament since 2016. Living in the Loiola district of the capital Gipuzkoa, with a long professional career in the field of social services and especially in recent years and of the political responsibility that EH Bildu bears, around care work and its necessary transformation.
She is political coordinator of the Euskal Herria Bildu parliamentary group in the Basque Parliament and member of the EH Bildu political table. In addition, he has held the position of spokesperson for the Parliamentary Group since Maddalen Iriarte took over from him to win the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council elections.
Euskaldun, a mother of two and “strongly committed to social justice and convinced that a fairer country will only be possible with high-quality public services guaranteed equally to all,” praised the coalition.
According to EH Bildu, in the coming days, until February 6, candidates can be submitted to form the lists of the area, and on February 15, 16 and 17, the bases to endorse the Gipuzkoa list will be voted on.
