Last Thursday it was all waltz on the dance floor of the Vienna State Opera. Of course, the ball event of the year was also popular on the political scene. Apparently it’s so hot that high-ranking politicians have illegally retreated to the men’s room to smoke, preferring to skip the trip outside altogether.
‘Luckily nothing happened’
“We can confirm that a smoke alarm went off in the men’s room due to cigarettes being smoked there. The company fire brigade was immediately on site and fortunately nothing happened,” the State Opera press service said.
The incident is said to have taken place in the men’s toilet near the politicians’ boxes. And according to information from the “Krone”, there are also two high-ranking politicians who were “caught red-handed” while smoking in the men’s toilet. The State Opera’s press service declined to comment on this. People were advised not to smoke, it is said.
