According to government circles, Chancellor Karl Nehammer plans to present the construction offensive as early as next week. More specifically, according to negotiating insiders, the Chancellor is pushing for a large-scale bonus in the form of subsidized housing loans and a major construction offensive, so that additional affordable housing space can be created for owners.

The ownership percentage must increase
In addition, work must be done on a package of measures to stimulate the construction sector. “Real estate must become affordable again. This is an absolute priority in our work. Real estate is the best form of retirement planning and creates freedom and security in the long term. This requires tangible measures so that we can significantly increase the number of owners. In Austria, 48 percent of the population currently lives in their own home, we want to increase this percentage to 60 percent by 2030,” Nehammer announces.
