The NNSA (National Authority for Nuclear Security) belongs to the Ministry of Energy and monitors the existence of thousands of nuclear weapons in the US. It is responsible for maintenance and for the safety of the explosive heads and also supervises the construction of new nuclear weapons. According to a report from Public Broadcast NPR, the NNSA also has to deal with terrorists and rogue states to obtain the acquisition of weapon -in the plutonium or uranium in it.

Only a few days ago there was a directive from the White House, according to which all employees would be released with time contracts and trial period. This can affect a maximum of 200,000 people, because many of them have actually been canceled, is currently not clear.

According to a calculation of the “Washington Post”, 14,000 employees could have fallen victim to this measure alone. According to the White House, the number of 75,000 officials who voluntarily give up their jobs and a severance payment with them is only secured with them.
