Two ETA prisoners go back to prison after the prosecutor opposes their third-degree murder

The other inmate affected is Juan Carlos Subijana, 59, convicted of gathering information to kill prison officer Máximo Casado on October 22, 2000.

According to Sare, he has served 23 years of a 28-year sentence, participated in thirteen scheduled departures and approximately twenty regular permits.

Sare criticized in the memorandum that “we are dealing with a Justice Department that has become the legal weapon of the extreme political right in these cases. They will do everything possible and impossible to prevent the application of normal prison policies and the path of return home of these prisoners.

In turn, it urges the Basque government to “propose again an increase in rank to the prisoners whose conditional or semi-freedom continues to block the National Court.”
