A big bang in East Tyrol: District Governor Olga Reisner was dismissed by the state government on Thursday due to “an irreconcilable loss of confidence”. Reports from the supervisory authority and staff representatives revealed “deficiencies in leadership and communication issues”. Employees had previously made serious allegations.
Things have been simmering in the Lienz district council for quite some time. Employees recently made serious accusations against district governor Olga Reisner in a letter to the media. Psychological violence or even bullying would be present in the room. When the department’s entire staff representative resigned at the beginning of this year, it became clear that things had been going wrong with the house blessing for a long time.
Service supervision began with surveys
A statement from the state in March said the employer had instructed the regulator to immediately investigate “the allegations in the room.”
“Irreconcilable loss of trust”
Then came the big bang on Thursday: “After the presentation of the final report of the supervisory authority by state office director Herbert Forster and on the basis of a report from the employee representative, the Tyrolean state government decided to dismiss them due to an irreconcilable loss of confidence on the part of the employees and the employer in the management of Lienz BH,” said a broadcast from the country.
The supervisory authority has conducted extensive and extensive investigations to verify the allegations made anonymously. “Both the employee representatives and the supervisory authority’s interview offer were largely accepted by BH Lienz employees,” the report continued.
“Such a decision is not an everyday occurrence and anything but simple. However, it must be said without any doubt that a lot of confidence has been lost within BH Lienz. For us as the state of Tyrol, it is very important to offer all employees a working environment characterized by cooperation and appreciation,” explains Governor Anton Mattle (ÖVP).
Investigations are currently underway
According to the state of Tyrol, the final reports from the supervisory authority and staff representatives identify “shortcomings in leadership and communication issues”. Reisner remains a state employee. Due to ongoing investigations by the disciplinary authority or the Innsbruck Public Prosecutor’s Office, a final “assessment of possible misconduct under official law” or “matters relevant to criminal law” cannot yet be carried out.
The appointed deputy district governor, Bettina Heinricher, will now lead the Lienz district administration as a deputy, and the authority’s management will be immediately brought back into focus.
