At 9 a.m., the 2,695 tables in the 729 polling stations opened in Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. The participation data cannot be compared with those from previous elections, because the data collection took place at different times.
Until 1:00 pm.has cast his vote 28% of the 1,795,212 citizens called today to vote in the elections for the Basque Parliament.
This was announced without questions by the vice president and security advisor Josu Erkoreka.
These data cannot be compared with participation in the elections four years ago, because the data collection took place at different times. However, unlike before and due to technological advances, participation data is real data and not estimates.
By territory, in Guipuzcoa participation was 30%; in Bizkaia 27.4%; and in Alava, of 25.9%.
As for the capitals, San Sebastián reached 29.5%, Bilbao 25.7% and Vitoria 25.3%.
Erkoreka has stressed that election day continues to develop normally and without incident.
The next performance is at 7 p.m. Participation details up to that point. The polling stations close at 8 p.m.
Absentee ballot
This year, 54,559 voters voted by mail, 52.8% fewer than four years ago (elections were held in the middle of a pandemic), but 14% more than in the 2016 election. However, this percentage is not reflected in the partial participation data, as it will be added to the closing of the polling stations, just before counting begins.
