The last two days of interrogation in the red-blue abuse of power investigation committee will arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday. As the “Krone” has learned, there are now prominent rejections in advance, including from FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl, but also prominent invitations. The prospects for the grand final in the explosive U-committee.
As is known, FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl made his big appearance in the beer tent on May 1. The second major action in the University Committee on red-blue abuse of power should have taken place on May 7. He should have been questioned for four hours about his party’s possible connections to Russia and about his contracts in connection with the think tank case. It should have happened, because as the “Krone” learned, the FPÖ leader canceled on Thursday afternoon due to a mountain trip that had been planned and booked for some time. A blue bang effect, but certainly not the only political farce surrounding the last planned survey week of the University Committee.
Key figure Sila agrees
Thomas Sila, who concluded the much-cited trust agreements with Kickl, officially agreed to this on Thursday, according to the ÖVP, which summoned him. “For us, Thomas Sila is the key figure in the Causa think tank. We will see whether we should describe Herbert Kickl as a ‘coward of the nation’ after he was a traitor and a wage emperor,” said Andreas Hanger, leader of the ÖVP faction, before Kickl’s rejection became official.
The question of who now owns the think tank property in Carinthia should also be clarified at the latest during Silas’ investigation.
Gudenus is on holiday
However, another rejection is already certain. The former blue club chairman Johann Gudenus, who, as the “Krone” revealed, was called up by the Neos on Wednesday to replace Egisto Ott, is, according to the Pinks, on holiday at the time and will therefore not appear in parliament. To replace the replacement, the Pinks now want to invite Gudenus and the intermediary of spy Jan Marsalek to the committee on Wednesday and question him there.
FPÖ asked Bures and invited Martin Ho
For its part, the PVV also knows how to come up with explosive charges. The Blues recently asked the second chairman of the National Council, Doris Bures (SPÖ), who, according to information from the “Krone”, would also have come. Ultimately, someone completely different is called in: the famous Viennese scene restorer Martin Ho. As is known, he was accused of fraud with Corona aid. He has always rejected that. As is known, the public prosecutor closed the investigation in December. The PVV now wants to take a closer look at the case, which has in fact already been legally settled.
SPÖ invites Strache’s bodyguard
And the Social Democrats? For their part, they also have an ace up their sleeve: the former bodyguard of former FPÖ leader Heinz-Christian Strache Oliver Ribarich. As is known, his revelations and inside information in the blue spending affair also led to the fall of Kickl’s predecessor. Ribarich was originally on the ÖVP’s invitation list. Now the Social Democrats have ‘taken over’ him – and are apparently hoping for similar results to Strache’s. “We invite him to provide information because he has extensive insights into what is happening within the FPÖ,” the SPÖ said.
