Moreover, and according to the EITB Focus survey, 63.4% believe that Europe is weakening.
At the doors of the elections for the European Parliamenta large majority of the society of the Basque Autonomous Community and Navarre believes that this is the case Europe does not retain a leading position worldwide. This is what 68% of respondents think, and they even believe it is weakening.
According to the survey EITB focusseven out of ten people consulted believe this European leadership is lower than that of the US and China. However, compared to Russia, citizens have more doubts and similar percentages emerge. The number of people who believe that Europe’s leadership is above that of Russia is 32.5%, and the number who believe that Russia is above that of Europe is 38.7%.
Almost half of citizens do not know how to emphasize the positive or negative aspects of the European Union.

In preparation for the EITB Focus survey, 1,200 people living in the BAC and Navarre were interviewed (300 in each historical area and in the regional community).
The fieldwork was conducted from May 14 to 17 through telephone interviews.
