In an interview with krone.tv, Green EU top candidate Lena Schilling speaks about the “absurd questions” she received after the accusations about her became public. “I was asked if I had set fire to the Lobau camp myself. That day was one of the worst of my life.”
She also received a request from ‘right-wing media’ asking her to send a list of men’s names and with whom she had had an affair. Schilling: “It really couldn’t be much more absurd.”
“Border crossings have taken place”
“In any case, boundaries have been crossed, that is clear.” The question is what this means for the further political debate and also for young people who can imagine a path in politics in the future. She cannot say whether her case has opened the door to a new way of dealing with things: “I like to push it away from myself to a certain extent, because of course the whole thing affects me.”
For Schilling, political trust means one thing above all: “That it is clear what and how someone is fighting for my interests. If I had to make an appeal to our voters, that’s exactly it.
