The turnout is almost 7 points higher than in 2022, and even higher than in the first round of these elections, which did not reach 26%. In the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, where Iparralde is integrated, the turnout was 30.59% at noon.
According to data from the Ministry of the Interior, the participation rate in the second round of the legislative elections in France stands at 26.63% as of Sunday noon, a participation that even exceeds the high turnout in the first round. In the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, where Iparralde is integrated, participation was 30.59% at noon.
The first round last week recorded a turnout of 25.9% at noon. In the last parliamentary elections of 2022, the turnout at noon was 18.43% in the first round and 18.99% in the second round.
Some of France’s key political players have already cast their votes, such as Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, who could end up losing his office if the far right wins a difficult absolute majority, or the leader of the conservative Republican Party, Éric Ciotti.
The country’s former president, François Hollande, who is running in the election under the left-wing alliance New Popular Front, has also already voted.
The high turnout so far shows the great interest the French are attaching to these elections, in which the far right of Marine Le Pen could come out on top for the first time and take power.
The following election participation data will be provided at 5:00 p.m.
