EH Bildu’s spokeswoman in the Basque Parliament has been interviewed about the “Egun on Euskadi” program, a day after the Basque government approved the budgetary guidelines for 2023.

After the Basque government yesterday approved the guidelines that will guide the budgets for 2023, the spokesman for EH Bildu spoke this Wednesday in the Basque parliament. In his speech, Economy and Finance Minister Pedro Azpiazu stressed the importance of maintaining “fiscal stability and financial sustainability”. In an interview with the ETB1 program “Egun on Euskadi”, he admitted that the words stability and durability scare him. He has also insisted that income is not infinite and that the debate over taxes should be put on the table.
The Basque institutions yesterday signed an agreement with Mercedes-Benz to prioritize electric driving and digitalisation. In addition, the management of the Vitoria-Gasteiz factory and the unions have been negotiating for months to update the agreement.
In a different order, PNV, EH Bildu, PSE-EE and Elkarrekin Podemos have clarified their doubts about the education pact. In this regard, Maddalen Iriarte has emphasized the value of the agreement. According to him, in a process of these characteristics, it is normal for ‘someone to raise their hand every now and then’. In any case, he has insisted on the firmness of the pact reached. On the other hand, he believes that the education pact can be an example to follow in other matters that can also be strategic.
Maddalen Iriarte has also referred to the situation of primary care. In his opinion, Sagardui somehow “translated” what is being done in Osakidetza.

Asked about EH Bildu’s candidatures for the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council and for the mayor of San Sebastián, he replied that the coalition will make a decision from September. In Álava and Bizkaia, for its part, EH Bildu has already ratified his candidacy for the Provincial Council of Álava, the Mayor’s Office of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Mayor’s Office of Bilbao.
