The Democratic Unitary Platform assures that the Supreme Court cannot prevent the CNE from publishing the disaggregated election data. The UN has also shown itself ready to act as a mediator in resolving disputes.

The Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela (TSJ) announced this on Saturday will review the documents submitted by political organizations and former candidates to make a decision at the end of the “validation process” of the July 28 elections, the official result of which certified the victory of President Nicolás Maduro. The results have been questioned both inside and outside the country, leading to protests in much of the international community.

Venezuela’s main opposition coalition, the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), assures that the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) cannot prevent the National Electoral Council (CNE) from publishing the disaggregated data from the presidential election.

In the same way, the PUD recalled that after the announcement of Maduro’s victory, the president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso, publicly pledged “in the coming hours I would provide” the data that would “support the results bulletin” and that these would be published on the institution’s website and that “thirteen days later, none of these commitments have been fulfilled.” Adding that the audits after the votes “were interrupted by the CNE without any justification.”

This was assured by the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Dennis Francis The UN is ready to mediate in Venezuela to resolve disputes due to the election results being questioned by the opposition.

However, the United Nations has indicated that it is the Venezuelans who “must first decide whether they want the UN” to step in to mediate and ease the tension.
